Weather in the Park
The lower part of this page displays part of the website of the Bureau of Meteorology(BOM) and provides a means of checking current and recent weather conditions near the Park.
The most relevant weather stations are Leigh Creek and Arkaroola. Other sections of the BOM website provide forecast information and this includes forecasts
for Leigh Creek.To see weather conditions at Leigh Creek and Arkaroola click on 'North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral' in
the list of regions near the top of the BOM webpage. To see forecasts for Leigh Creek and other places, or to look for weather warnings for South Australia,
put your cursor over "SA" at the top of the BOM page and select the appropriate item from the menu that drops down.
Note: if you move from the webpage that is displayed below to other parts of the BOM website they may open in a new window and you will no longer be able to see
this "Friends of Vulkathunha-Gammon Ranges National Park Inc." website. However, if this happens, you should be able to bring it back into view by using your browser's 'Back' button.
When there has been significant rainfall near the Park
it is worthwhile looking at the South Australian Department of Roads website to check that the roads near the Park are open to traffic.
Heavy rainfall will often see unsealed roads near the Park closed to traffic or subject to traffic restrictions. Clicking on the 'Location and road access'
link at the left will open a page containing a link to the Department of Roads website.
